Abstract
Samsung is a market leader in the mobile space. In this talk, Dr. Zheng will introduce Samsung Mobile R&D Lab, Seattle, an R&D center that has been established to create innovations in the broad mobile computing domain by collaborating with US telecom industry, startups, and academics. The talk will also cover major technological trends for mobile devices, new network services, and notable research work by Samsung and other companies or research institutes that pave the way for the next big things onto mobile devices.
Biography
Dr. Pei Zheng has over 15 years of experience in mobile device product development and management driving device OEM innovations for commercialization and advanced R&D with major US carriers. He is now Head of Samsung R&D Lab, Seattle. Prior to that he was with Lucent Bell Labs, Microsoft, i-Mate, and Sony Ericsson. Dr. Zheng is a co-author of three highly reviewed books, and numerous cited publications on IEEE journals and conferences. He received a PhD in Computer Science from Michigan State University in 2003.
